Products & Benefits
BxChip
The BxChip is a patented Sectionable Matrix designed to hold biopsy core specimens throughout lab processing. One study reported significant benefits of using the BxChip in their urology lab:
- 5% average increase in histologic tissue surface area on the glass slide
- 8% average increase in biopsy core length
- Most notably, the overall cancer detection rate increased by 18.79%!
- 78% reduction in grossing time
- 83% reduction in embedding time
- 76% decrease in total lab time per prostate case
Options available:
Lanes: 6-Lane, 12-Lane
12-18g core needle biopsies, 12g core needle biopsies (6-lane only)
Sterilized and non-sterilized BxChips

BxFrame
The BxFrame is a sectionable planar matrix* made from a biomimetic organic polymer that allows the creation of tissue microarrays for routine clinical diagnostics during grossing.
Tissue samples can be loaded into the site-specific receptacles of the BxFrame either in the Operating Room or the Pathology Laboratory. It ensures the preservation of spatial orientation for the tissue samples within the paraffin block and on the resulting microscope slides.
Options available: BxFrame for plastic standard cassettes and BxFrame-p for Sakura Paraform® cassettes.
*The matrix material does not interfere with IHC, ISH, FISH, NGS, or other molecular testing methods.
